Making a difference

There are two efforts that pull on our heartstrings.  We support these efforts through our volunteer efforts:

  1. Elevating the importance, protecting the remaining built environment and preserving our world recognized automobile heritage along Woodward Avenue including efforts to obtain a world heritage designation for the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant and Ford Highland Park.
  2. Saving the lives for Michigan’s homeless pets through the implementation of 21st century best practices in Michigan’s shelters.

Schutt & Company supports the on-going preservation efforts of the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant.  It is here that Henry Ford first launched the Model T.  Please visit this early industrial automobile factory and support it with your charitable contributions.  Efforts are underway to recognize this National Historic Landmark as a World Heritage Site.

While working with the Woodward Avenue Action Association, our President assisted the Board of Directors in purchasing two building of the Ford Highland Park Plant for an Automobile Heritage Welcome Center.

Our efforts are now directed with the State Historic Preservation Office, the National Park Service and other collaborators to have the Ford Highland Park Plant site designated a World Heritage Site.

Our President is one of the founders and currently chairs the statewide not for profit Michigan Pet Fund Alliance with the mission to end the killing of healthy and treatable homeless cats and dogs in Michigan.  The Vision is to collaborate with Michigan animal shelters and rescue organizations to achieve No Kill through training, technical assistance, education and advocacy.
